Derek is a kind king.
When, if ever, he has passed on and laid to rest, the historians will have many things to say about him and his reign. But Derek has made it all but impossible, through his lenient rule and affable personality, for them not to remark, in some measure or other, about his kindness.
Unlike many kings among men before him, his were humble beginnings. Studying first in the cloisters of Simon of Fraser University, Derek left to pursue various tasks and jobs amongst the people, that he may learn the ways and needs of the common folk. Having achieved enlightenment in this fashion, he left for the capitol, trading coding and literary analysis for food and drink along the way.
At the capitol he waited several days to have an audience with the king, who was old and bitter, and could not see the world for what it was. In a hallowed duel of the board game Puerto Rico, Derek claimed the title of the aged king, and thus his reign began.
The organizers of the WTF Game Jam feel they should point out that Derek is the DM in Michael’s D&D game, and that this biography does not reflect the power of life, death, and epic loot Derek holds over him. Thank you.
